The Brentwood High School "Spartan" Marching Band is seeking candidates for an Assistant Director/Visual Ensemble Coordinator.

This is a part-time, year-round position paid through the union contract.

Applicants must:

  • Possess highly developed skills in twirling batons and spinning flags, rifles, sabers, and other equipment.
  • Possess a strong dance background.
  • Possess the ability to write, choreograph, and teach coordinated routines between majorettes (batons, swing flags, hoops, etc.) and color guard (flags, rifles, sabers, etc.).
  • Be able to attend all scheduled band practices and performances starting the last week of June (4th of July parade practices) through the last Monday in May (Memorial Day).
  • Be willing to supervise students on buses to away events

Reed Richardson is looking to fill a few more spots on his drill writing schedule. He has written over 180 shows for the following circuits: - DCI (all division) BOA, WGI, PIMBA, SCSBOA, WBA, MBOS, NCBA, USSBA and MBA. Based in San Diego, he has clients across the country. Some of my PIMBA clients have included. Gateway, (2003-2007. 2009) West Allegheny (2005-2008), Southmoreland (2008-present), and Quaker Valley. Across the county: The 2009 MBOS Champion Poway High School, Mt. Carmel, Vista, Rancho Buena Vista, Mira Mesa, Vista Murrieta, Canyon, Madera, Point Loma, Helix, Eastlake, Murrieta Valley, Ramona, Mission Hills, Bonita Vista, Grossmont and Kennedy. Plus many more. He has also written for Esperanza Drum & Bugle Corps. 2000-2005 (including the 2003 Div II DCI championship show). Memphis Sound Drum and Bugle Corps, and The Cavalier Alumni Corps 2008. He is currently a Music Education Major at Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio. He was also a member of the 2009- 2010 Youngstown Marching Pride. He has worked as a percussion instructor for various schools in Utah and California, including director of percussion for Mountain Crest high school for five years before moving to the Pittsburgh area. Trinity's band camp is from July 26-August 6, but other than that time, she is free for the rest of the summer. Chad Toporski is looking for wind music arranging opportunities for the 2010 marching band season. Chad has been involved in marching bands since middle school and has been arranging music since his time with the U.S. Army Bands. While attending IUP, he was asked to arrange all the music for a three-movement “West Side Story” field show (2007). In 2009, Chad was again asked to arrange “Invisible Touch” for a Genesis field show. As an upcoming arranger, Chad will consider price negotiations and provide discounts for first-time services.
