PIMBA ANNOUNCES 2014 SCHEDULEPIMBA is excited to release its fall 2014 schedule, including seven regular-season shows leading up to Championships at Penn Trafford High School. All bands throughout the tri-state area are invited to participate in either Festival Class or Competition Class. Bands of all sizes and styles are welcome to perform and receive input, audio commentary in real time and post-show dialogue with the judges as collective feedback help students and bands improve. SLIPPERY ROCK U OFFERS COLOR GUARD WORKSHOPThe Slippery Rock University Marching Band is sponsoring a Color Guard Workshop for all interested High School, Middle School, and College students on Saturday, May 3, at the East Gym on campus from 10 AM - 2 PM.
Pre registration is $15 per student
Pre registration of 10 or more students from a single school would be $10 per student
Registration at the door that day will be $20 per student.

SLIPPERY ROCK U ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR THE 2014 COLOR GUARD & ROCKLETTESThe SRU Color Guard and Rocklettes will be having their Spring Auditions on Saturday, May 3, in the East Gym at SRU from 10 AM - 2 PM. Candidates for either group will participate in movement and basic Flag technique sessions. Color Guard members will also have rifle and saber classes. Candidates will be notified with the results immediately following the audition.
Summer Auditions will be held on Saturday, July 12, at Swope Hall from 10 AM -1 PM
***Interested candidates may set up an individual audition if a schedule conflict prevents attending either the Spring or Summer Audition.***

SLIPPERY ROCK U. SPONSORS MARCHING PERCUSSION WORKSHOPThe SRU Marching Rockets will hold a Marching Percussion Workshop for both students and directors on Monday, June 16, from 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM. Registration will begin at 9 AM. Clinicians will include Mike Blazer, Evan Brown, Dave Soose & Matt O'Neil.
An array of topics will be addressed, including:
• Stretching prior to marching & playing.
• Warm-up exercises & their benefits.
• Working with a metronome.
• Where to listen within the ensemble in both percussion & winds to percussion.
• Percussion drill placements within the full band.
• Keyboard grip & stroke for projection.
• Front Ensemble electronics, amplification & instrument placement.
• Stick, Mallet & Head selection.
