PIMBA HEADLINES - September 18, 2014

GOOD LUCK TO ALL BANDS PERFORMING ON SATURDAY AT THE BOA REGIONAL AT GATEWAY HS!
PIMBA extends its best wishes to all 16 bands performing in the BOA Regional Competition to be held this Saturday, September 20, at Gateway HS. Prelims begin at 10:30 AM and Finals start at 7:15 PM. Click on the link with the column on the far right of our Homepage for more information and schedules.

Five PIMBA bands will be participating: Deer Lakes, Gateway, Kiski, Norwin and Penn- Trafford.

Two LMBA band from northwestern PA will also be performing: McDowell and North East. North East High School's band director, Stephan DeGrosky, is a graduate of West Allegheny HS here in southwestern PA.

Four bands from Virginia, three from Ohio, one from New York and Hempfield HS from central PA complete a terrific line-up for this regional showcase. PIMBA wishes all bands and fans safe travels, great weather (certainly deserved!) and terrific performances.

THIRD SHOW OF THE 2014 PIMBA SEASON COMING UP ON SATURDAY, 9-27, AT NORWIN HS
We invite all marching band fans to join us on Saturday, September 27, at Norwin High School in North Huntingdon to enjoy the 10 bands that are scheduled to perform at the third show of PIMBA's 19th season. PIMBA is excited to welcome the Ritchey County HS Band from West Virginia for their first -ever PIMBA performance, and, to welcome back the Belle Vernon High School Marching Band performing in Festival Class!

REMAINING 2014 PIMBA SCHEDULE
PIMBA's fall 2014 schedule includes five regular-season shows leading up to Championships at Penn Trafford High School. All bands throughout the tri-state area are invited to participate in either Festival Class or Competition Class.

Bands of all sizes and styles are welcome to perform and receive any combination of music and/or visual input, including audio commentary in real time from up to 7 judges, post-show dialogue with the judges, and ratings as feedback to help students and bands improve. Ratings and rankings are optional.

PIMBA is thrilled that a record five bands will participate in Festival Class this season, including Freeport at the Kiski show; Plum at the Gateway show, Belle Vernon at the Norwin Show, Greater Latrobe at the Moon show, and Apollo-Ridge at the Deer Lakes show!

4 PIMBA MEMBER SCHOOL DISTRICTS RECOGNIZED BY NAMM
Four school districts of PIMBA member bands were recently recognized as 2014 "Best Communities for Music Education" by NAMM recently: Fox Chapel, Moon, Rochester and Trinity. Congratulations to all of the students, music faculty, administrators and board members of these districts as well as to their communities for this prestigious recognition!
