Background & Goals
Founded in 1996, PIMBA began with seventeen founding member bands for the purpose of providing the philosophical and organizational structure for marching band field competitive events in Southwestern Pennsylvania.
The goals of PIMBA remain: to promote participation in marching band field events; to promote the art form of competitive marching band based on fundamental principles of music education; and, to promote cooperation and respect among all bands, directors, staffs, student members, parents, parent organizations, judges and all others affiliated with the organization.
For its twenty-sixth season in 2022, PIMBA remains a marching band circuit structured, administrated, implemented and monitored by its member Directors for the direct educational benefit of the students involved in all participating bands.
